Arendsig
Arendsig Hand Crafted Wines
Arendsig (“Eagle’s View”) is a boutique wine estate located between Robertson and Bonnievale in the Robertson Wine Valley of the Western Cape, South Africa. The estate is owned and operated by winemaker Lourens van der Westhuizen, a fifth-generation farmer who established the winery in 2004.
What makes Arendsig special?
- Known for its single-vineyard wines, where each wine is produced from a specific vineyard block to express the unique characteristics of that site.
- Uses a minimal-intervention winemaking philosophy, including natural yeast fermentation and limited use of additives.
- The vineyards are planted on rocky, mineral-rich Bokkeveld soils and benefit from cooling breezes and large day-night temperature differences, contributing to distinctive wine styles.
