THE WINE The wine is full bodied with herbaceous â€˜veldâ€™, spice, pepper, bright red summer fruit and plum flavours. The wine was made to be enjoyed at release, but should only improve with age for up to 8 years after release. The wine is ideal to be enjoyed on its own in winter or slightly chilled in summer evenings and will go well with strong cheese, lamb or game dishes.
2 years new barrel maturation, 4 years bottle maturation. No crushing of berries, no yeast but that from their skins, no fining- additives and no filters. Wine made by itself, kept for two years in the best new French-oak barrels, fit for this wonder. It is a piece of our history, our passion, labour and luck we were selling. It is our finest expression of Cabernet Sauvignon, and the best we can do. Will age for another 15-20 years.
A superb blend of The Family of Red wines: Merlot (35%), Pinotage (30%), Shiraz (15%), Tinta Barocca (10%), Ruby Cabernet (5%) and Touriga Nacional (5%). Flavours of ripe berry and plum with layers of creamy vanilla, nuts and dark chocolate on the palate. A perfect partner for red meat.
