    This is a wine that I, Fanus Bruwer, make for myself to drink because I love a good Rosé in summer. The wine is pale pink onionskin in color. Red Berries and cassis on the nose follow through with a juicy fruitiness on the palate and elegant acidity.

    It was our desire to produce a Bordeaux Blend and so we planted the classic varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. These vines were planted on carefully selected sites and took 9 years to reach maturity. The grapes were fermented whole with native yeasts and left for 5 weeks on their skins. The wine was then barrel aged for two years followed by four years of bottle maturation.

    In order to achieve a luscious, juicy wine, we try to have as little intervention in the cellar as possible.The result is a velvety wine with softer tannins and classical varietal characteristics. This traditional wine is unfiltered and unfined, which may deposit sediment and might require decanting.

  • Incredible rich black red colour-superb balance. Concentrated dense fruit, great complexity for a 2015 and it is just so drinkable already. It is a wine which want to be tasted again and again. Good but not overwhelming concentration of wood with lots of black and red cherry and nice hints of tobacco. Nice, elegant tannins makes this wine perfectly nice and firm. Should get better for another 12 years plus due to its perfect balance

    Viljoensdrift Single Vineyard Pinotage

  • This wine is a typical Bordeaux blend, with power of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the elegance of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Cigar box and blackberry flavour are very prominent. The subtle oaking adds complexity and structure to this wine.

    Created by using the ancient technique of fermenting uncrushed berries with native yeast from the grapes. Bottled without finings or filtration after aging for one year in French barrels. A further 12 months of bottle aging took place prior to release.

    Montagu Merlot Ruby Cabernet

  • Although there remains some youthful greenness, the bouquet of this full-bodied wine suggests tremendously ripe fruit, reminiscent of spicy plum jam. Ripe, sweet-fruited nose with loads of berry fruit, pepper and vanilla with subtle hints of karoo bos. Full rounded mouth adds plum to all that the nose suggested.

    Smoke and spice develop as the glass stands. Rounded tannins make for very easy drinking even at this early age but will develop with great benefit over 4/5 years. This wine should benefit from further maturation

    Good food wine, especially rich stews and winter food. It is ideal with spiced game casseroles, stuffed roast pork of lamb or pickled tongue.
