It was our desire to produce a Bordeaux Blend and so we planted the classic varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. These vines were planted on carefully selected sites and took 9 years to reach maturity. The grapes were fermented whole with native yeasts and left for 5 weeks on their skins. The wine was then barrel aged for two years followed by four years of bottle maturation.
A superb blend of The Family of Red wines: Merlot (35%), Pinotage (30%), Shiraz (15%), Tinta Barocca (10%), Ruby Cabernet (5%) and Touriga Nacional (5%). Flavours of ripe berry and plum with layers of creamy vanilla, nuts and dark chocolate on the palate. A perfect partner for red meat.
An elegant wine with deep ruby colour, plums and red berry fruit with smoothly integrated tannin. Accessible now, but well enough structured for 4+ years ageing. The ideal wine to serve with roasts, venison and matured cheese.
