    Arendsig Shiraz

  • Incredible rich black red colour-superb balance. Concentrated dense fruit, great complexity for a 2015 and it is just so drinkable already. It is a wine which want to be tasted again and again. Good but not overwhelming concentration of wood with lots of black and red cherry and nice hints of tobacco. Nice, elegant tannins makes this wine perfectly nice and firm. Should get better for another 12 years plus due to its perfect balance

    Viljoensdrift Single Vineyard Pinotage

  • Hand picked grapes. No yeast, acid or enzymes added. 80% Aged in tank and 20% in old 300l French oak barrels for 11 months. Unfined and not cold stabilised. Ligthly filtered at bottling.

    Cape Rock Grenache

  • Our Merlot is the epitome of the well-rounded FAT bastard.

    It is made from carefully selected grapes with the aim to produce a ripe-flavoured and silky textured wine. All fruit is gently pressed to retain fruit aromas and character.

    The wine is aged in small oak barrels, adding greater weight and complexity. With a deep ruby hue, our Merlot boasts aromas of ripe berries leading to a juicy palate of summer fruits and black cherry with soft, rounded tannins to finish.

  • Vintage Conditions
    The 2015 harvest had the earliest start in decades and was also one of the driest in years, with a 2 percent smaller grape harvest promising exceptional wines. Warm weather in August resulted in earlier bud break, after which a warm, dry and windy summer kept vineyard growth under control and accelerated ripening. Although the dry, warm conditions and a lack of rain necessitated additional irrigation, the dry weather during harvest time was ideal to ensure healthy grapes without diseases or rot. This dryland region crops decreased, but smaller berries promise remarkable quality.

    Overhex Survivor Pinotage

  • This wine is a typical Bordeaux blend, with power of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the elegance of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Cigar box and blackberry flavour are very prominent. The subtle oaking adds complexity and structure to this wine.

    Goedverwacht Triangle

  • Deep, crimson red with purplish hue. Blackcurrant, savoury and spicy on the nose. Full bodied on the palate with fine tannins that is in good balance with the acidity. Ideal with venison, oxtail stew and pungent cheeses.

  • Our Shiraz is yet another delicious wine in the pod of Fat Bastards that we simply know you’ll love. It’s made from carefully selected grapes with the aim to produce a wine with pure fruit character. All fruit is gently pressed to retain fruit aromas.

    The wine is aged in small oak barrels, which adds greater weight and complexity to the finished product. This full-bodied wine shows freshly crushed black pepper aromas with hints of cinnamon and cloves on the nose with lots of brambly red berry fruit and well-integrated vanilla tones.

    Fat Bastard Shiraz

  • Its unapologetically intense aromas of blackcurrant and brambly wild fruit lead promisingly to rich flavours of ripe cassis and chocolate with a hint of earthiness.

    Balanced tannins and acidity ensure a well-defined structure and elegant finish. Fat, unadulterated joy in a bottle!

    Fat Bastard Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Complexity meets balance to create an exceptional smooth wine with smoky notes of cigar box infused with coffee and a hint of spice with prominent fruity undertones.

    Mimosa Shiraz

  • Bright red colour. Medium intense flavours with complementary leather and spicy vanilla from the wood maturation. The palate is in harmony with the bouquet and carried sweet soft tannins.

    Mc Gregor Shiraz

  • A harmonious blend of these two noble cultivars give prominent nut, ripe berries and a peppery flavour with undertones of lovely vanilla toasting. On the aftertaste the sweet berries and vanilla complimented the soft tannins and berry flavour.

  • Tasting Note Appearance:Dark, ruby colour Nose: Sweet violet, blackberry fruits and on the nose. Palate: Succulent flavours of ripe plum and blackcurrant, enhanced by hints of coffee and chocolate. Soft tannins lend a firm structure.
