  • The Chenin Blanc were harvested fully ripe at 24 Balling by hand , cooled down to 10 degrees Celsius , crushed, only free run juice used and innoculated with yeast to ferment. VIN 13 / NT 116 yeast co innoculation to ferment. The Viognier were harvested two weeks later and the free run juice aded to the fermenting Chenin blanc must Fermented at 16 degrees Centigrade , 6 weeks to complete fermentation Post fermentationt the wine spent 3 months on it’s thick lees with low sulphur at 9 degrees Centigrade.

  • This vintage the blend comprises out of 58% Shiraz, 40% Petit Verdot and 2% Viognier. The wine is intense ruby red coloured and complex, expressing flavours of berry fruit, ground pepper spice and peachy fruit. The pallet is filled with berry fruit and the peppery, spicy and toasted oak flavours are well integrated. A Full bodied wine with pleasant ripe tannins and a smooth, lingering aftertaste.

  • This vintage of the Rietvallei White Esteanna 2012 is a blend of 61% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Chardonnay, 11% Chenin Blanc and 2% Viognier. The wine has forthcoming aromas of green fig and melon, which follow through onto the palate. It shows a crisp acidity and yet has a satisfying creamy weight from the partial barrel fermentation and maturation. The lingering aftertaste hints at the pedigree and longevity of this delicious wine.

  • Vintage Conditions
    The 2016 harvest was significantly smaller than the past three vintages. The harvest was a challenge for both viticulturists and winemakers as it was one of the driest growing seasons. Winemakers were faced with lower sugar and acid levels which called for innovative winemaking techniques to produce high quality wine. The smaller crop did however result in the formation of smaller berries with a higher concentration of flavours and colour. Overall the wines are showing exceptional flavour and good structure with a fresh, crisp finish.
